ANCIENT INDIA: DECCAN: Vakataka/Traikutaka period, ca. 5th century AD, lead unit (2.36g), ornate triskeles // lotus with a mace emanating out of its stalk, a small elephant to left and an indistinct symbol to right; unpublished, Fine, RRR. According to the consignor: "This coin bears similarity with the Aulikara issues from Western Malwa and in all likelihood was struck under the Vakatakas in around 5th century AD."
