DHU'L NUNID OF TOLEDO: al-Qadir Yahya II, 1075-1085, AV fractional dinar (1.10g), NM, ND, A-T398, Zeno-264212 (this piece), circular legend in meaningless pseudo-Arabic // 2nd half of the kalima with the ruler's name al-qadir billah below, part of Qur'an verse 9:33 in the margin; contemporary imitation, probably made by a jeweler, mount removed, VF-XF, RR. Yahya II was in association with Alfonso VI or Léon & Castile from the beginning of his reign, and ceded the city of Toledo to Alfonso in 1085. This piece was likely produced either during his reign or later under Alfonso VI (1072-1109) or somewhat later.
