DILA'ITE: temp. Muhammad al-Hajj, 1641-1662, AE square fals (4.03g), Fès, AH1068, A-581A, legends duriba bi-fas // sanat 1068, the first reported coin of Fès struck during the Interregnum period between the Sa'dian and 'Alawi dynasties (roughly 1654-1664), and the only coin struck during this period at Fès, which was in Dila'ite hands roughly 1641-1663; unpublished and probably unique, VF, RRR. The only other mint name on a few of the Interregnum coins is Marrakesh, which was under Chebanat rule and never occupied by the Dila'ites.
