DURRANI: Ayyub Shah, 1817-1829, AE falus (11.49g) (Peshawar), AH1236, A-3136, ornate flowering plant on reverse, Very Fine, RR. Athough mint is off flan, it must be Peshawar. The obverse is identical to Whitehead-1202, probably the same obverse die after it had begun to deteriorate, with several clear die breaks, especially through the word shah after ayyub. The reverse type appears unpublished. The designs for Ayyub's copper coins at Peshawar were changed at least once per year.
