DURRANI: Taimur Shah, 1772-1793, AV mohur (10.87g), Herat, AH1208//1209, A-3099, KM-386, posthumous issue, obverse date at the bottom, bold dates on both sides, glorious deep strike, choice EF, R. Posthumous issue struck under the authority of Mahmud Shah, who seized power in Herat in 1207, in reaction against his brother Shah Zaman, who was theoretically in charge of the entire Durrani kingdom and ruling at its capital, Kabul. Mahmud Shah did not recognize Shah Zaman at Herat until AH1212.
