DURRANI: Taimur Shah, 1772-1793, AV mohur, Herat, AH1216, A-3099M, actually an issue of the upcoming Mahmud Shah when in opposition to Shah Zaman, who ruled AH1207-1216; struck during the very briefly between the ousting of Zaman, who dies in exile in 1261/1845, and the coronation of Mahmud later in 1216; unique and unpublished (incorrently assigned on the slab to Zaman Shah), NGC graded AU50, RRRR. The Herat silver rupees struck posthumous in the name of Taimur were struck AH1208-1212 and briefly in 1216 (RRR). The gold dinars have been published for 1208-1209, and this seems to be first known example dated 1216. There are none on CoinArchives or Zeno, and none in the standard publications.
