ROGER 1840 on the his truncation // IL SAIT/ DÉFENDRE/ AVEC/ NOBLESSE/ L'HONNEUR/ DE/ SON PAYS, with the name of the battle NEZIB 1839 on a sword between the legends in French & Arabic; marked 1984 BRONZE on the edge, some light porosity on the reverse, overall with lovely surfaces and a lovely example of this rare medal, AU, R.
