EL SALVADOR: Republic, AR 5 centavos, 1892, KM-109, struck at the Central American Mint in San Salvador, a lovely mint state example! PCGS graded MS63, ex Joe Sedillot Collection. Between 1892 and 1896 the Central American Mint (CAM) struck several million pesos worth of silver coins of different denominations, as well as a limited number of gold coins. After the mint closed operations, silver coins were then produced in European and United States mints using the same matrixes developed by the CAM from 1904 through 1914.
