EQUATORIAL GUINEA: Republic, 10,000 ekuele, 1978, KM-E7, essai off-metal strike in aluminum for gold, Masie Nguema Biyogo President for Life, PCGS graded Specimen 65. Francisco Macías Nguema was the first President of Equatorial Guinea, from 1968 until his overthrow and subsequent execution in 1979. During his presidency, his country was nicknamed "the Dachau of Africa" as he was known to order entire families and villages executed. On 14 July 1972, a presidential decree merged all existing political parties into the United National Party, with Macías Nguema with the title as "President for Life" of both the nation and the party. It seems he did rule his nation for life in the end.
