ETHNOGRAPHIC: PACIFIC ISLANDS: shell money set, SET of 12 types of shell disc string (all ca. 20cm long) from various islands, attributed and set on display plaque by the consignor, including lolot, pambang, kuwas, siliuro (4 types of mis money from Lihir Island, Papua New Guinea, Opitz. p.223), a very old example from New Hanover Island (Papua New Guinea), som (Banks Islands, Vanuatu), vula (New Britain), karadu, firae (Auki Island, Solomons), kel, and bala; an interesting and eclectic collection with bright colors; set of 12 pieces, ex Charles Opitz Collection.
