FATIMID: al-Mu'izz, 953-975, AR fractional dirham (1.18g), NM, ND, A-699-var, North African local tribal issue, citing al-Mu'izz and a local governor (read by the consignor as Khalaf b. Ahmad, but while the patronymic seems to be Ahmad, the son's name cannot to Khalaf, perhaps Qâsim but that also seems unlikely); star above & below both sides; finest quality; unpublished and unique, VF-XF, RRRR. Undoubtedly an issue of one of the numerous Berber tribes in North Africa, possibly part of the Maghrawid branch of the Zenata confederation.
