FINLAND: AE medal (13.62g), 1940, 37mm bronze participant's medal for the Cancelled Helsinki Summer Olympic Games, nude male torchbearer rinning right with globe showing Finland behind, XII OLYMPIA 1940 HELSINGFORS around with stylized laurel wreath below // Olympic Stadium and tower with XII / OLYMPIA in left field and "HELSINKI / 1940" in right field, lightly cleaned, light reverse oxidation, plain edge, Unc. These medals were struck on November 30, 1939, and, after the war, were sold for the benefit of the Viipuri district of the Finnish Gymnastics and Sports Federation. They are quite scarce.
