FRANCE: AE medal (68.75g), ND (1844), Bramsen-1986, Julius-4005, 53mm silvered bronze medal on the Arrival of Napoleon's Remains at the Invalides in Paris by Montagny, laureate bust of Napoleon right with "HIST DE LA REVOLUTION, DE L'EMPIRE DE LA RESTAURATION ET DE LA MON DE 1830" around with PUBLIÉ PAR POURRAT FRÈRES / A PARIS below bust // Napoleon I's coffin is carried by his faithful; in the center, France holds a laurel branch and an olive branch and an angel holds the letter N on an altar; behind, the Invalides and in the distance, the Belle-Poule, lightly cleaned, partially retoned, rare, interestingly marked C-DORÉ on edge, XF. Apparently, this medal was an advertising device for the publisher Pourrat Frères. We were unable to find another of these medals online with the silvered bronze treatment.
