FRANCE: AE plaque (293.0g), ND (1925), Maier-313, 102x62mm Art Deco bronze plaque of Leda and the Swan by André Lavrillier, depicts the myth of the ancient Greek god Zeus, in the form of a swan, seducing Leda, uniface, classic beautiful design, BRONZE and cornucopia privy mark on edge, Unc. Andre Lavrillier (1885-1958) won the Grand Prix de Rome for medal engraving in 1914, but was only able to go to Rome to study after World War I. This medal was made for a medallic exhibition of 12 medallists for La Revue Aréthuse on April 25, 1925 in Paris.
