AVG. - DE THOV around // perspective view of the Great Reading Room with ET IN EA INVENIES THESAVRVM on banner above and "SOC DES BIBLIOPH FR / FONDEE EN 1820" in exergue, beautiful original tone with golden highlights, plain edge, PCGS graded MS62. Jacques Auguste de Thou was Grand Master of the Royal Library, in addition to being a historian and diplomat.
