IMPORTANT NOTE - The Buyer's Premium is now $20 per lot or 20% of the hammer price, whichever amount is greater. However, we have also reduced opening bids on lower value items to adjust for the new Buyer's Premium structure, so all-in costs are still very close to what they were in the past. This change in fee structure will allow us to continue to offer coins valued at less than $100 in addition to our higher value offerings. Contact us with any questions.
FRANCE: Henri IV, 1589-1610, AE "franc" (281.5g), Paris, 1607-A, as Lafaurie-1060, 66mm bronze piefort issue emulating the 1607 AR franc, bust right with date "1607" below, all within beaded circle, with +HENRICVS IIII D G FRANCO ET NAVARAE REX around // floriated cross with lis on the ends and large H at center, all within beaded circle, with SIT NOMEN DOMINI BENEDICTVM - A around, appears to be cleaned, very rare, RESTITUTORIS PERENNITATI PRINCIPIS GALLIAE on edge, VF. Almost certainly issued as a medallic-type issue in imitation of the piefort franc and demi-francs of 1607, but at a much later date.
