FRANCE: Henri V, Pretender, 1830-1883, AR 5 francs, 1831, Bruce-X35, Mazard-905, VG-2690, Gadoury-651, damage on reverse from broach mounts removed, otherwise a nice example of this scarce pretender coinage, NNC certified AU58. Henri, Count of Chambord and Duke of Bordeaux, was disputedly King of France from August 2-9, 1830 as Henry V, although he was never officially proclaimed as such. Afterwards, he was the Legitimist pretender to the throne of France from 1844 until his death in 1883.
