IMPORTANT NOTE - The Buyer's Premium is now $20 per lot or 20% of the hammer price, whichever amount is greater. However, we have also reduced opening bids on lower value items to adjust for the new Buyer's Premium structure, so all-in costs are still very close to what they were in the past. This change in fee structure will allow us to continue to offer coins valued at less than $100 in addition to our higher value offerings. Contact us with any questions.

The first equestrian statue for Henri IV was pulled down in 1792 during the French Revolution to make cannons. The current statue is the work of the sculptor François-Frédéric Lemot; it was inaugurated on August 25, 1818. During this new erection, several objects were placed inside the statue: parchment documents relating to the inauguration of the statue, 26 medals, and 3 works on Henry IV. All of this was placed in the horse's belly and is now preserved in the Iron Cabinet at the National Archives, Museum of the History of France.
