FRANCE: Third Republic, AR plaque (57.95g), [1905], 50mm x 66mm, Franco-Japanese Sports Festival uniface plaque by Régamey and Nocq, Paris, on a crown of oak, a rooster and the rising sun; above Japanese text, below, the initials FJS (France-Japon sportif); signatures of FÉLIX RÉGAMEY INV. and HENRY NOCQ C are missing on this rare silver issue, EF, RR. Henry Nocq was a sculptor and medallist, and one of the most qualified representatives of modern French Art. He was born at Paris on 13 January 1868 and studied under Chapu.
