Bénard, Marianne standing facing with head right and holding flagpole and shield inscribed FR with INDOCHINE - FRANÇAISE around, 5 heads flanking the central figure, and a flanking "1887 - 1937 " below all // incense burner with CINQVANTENAIRE / DE LA FONDATION / DE L'VNION / INDOCHINOISE above and TONKIN CAMBODGE LAOS - COCHINCHINE ANNAM around, BRONZE with cornucopia privy mark on edge, UNC. The five heads on the obverse symbolize the 5 member countries of the union: Laos, Cambodia, Tonkin, Annam, and Cochinchina.
