GARHWAL: Bhanuva, circa 2nd century AD, AE round (2.43g), Pieper-1112 (this piece), Brahmi legend rajno bhanuvasya, ten-arched hill on top, river at bottom // Karttikeya standing, holding spear, VF, RRR. Bhanuva was a local king of the mountainous Garhwal region, from which very few coins are known. S.C.Kala (1956) reported a similar type from the Lansdown hoard, but that coin had a six-arched hill and a six-headed Karttikeya.
