PHYSIK MAGIE U. OPTIK in outer legend, VON / F.J.BASCH / PROFESSOR./ D .MAGIE at center, a superb mint state example! PCGS graded MS65. German magician Friederich Joseph Basch (1833-1877), his brothers Ernst (1838-1908) and Heinrich (1841-1876) and their father Hirsch Wilhelm Basch formed what became known as the Basch magical dynasty. Ernst stopped performing professionally in 1887 thereby ending the family tradition. These magic tokens were used as advertisement for regular evening performances by F. J. Basch. They were issued around 1870 and exist in many varieties.
