The Oberammergau Passion Play has been performed every 10 years from 1634 to 1674 and each decadal year since 1680, with a few exceptions, by the inhabitants of the village of Oberammergau, Bavaria, Germany. The Carl Poellath Münz und Prägewerk firm was founded in 1778 by Johann Cristoph Abraham, who died in 1798. Carl Poellath joined the firm by marrying Abraham's widow in 1798. The company relocated to Schrobenhausen in 1884, and continues to produce embossed metals into the 21st Century.
