GERMANY: Republic, AR medal (25g), Bavarian State Mint, 1960, 40mm silver medal by renowned German engraver and sculpter Helmut Diller (1911-1984) marked with HD for hunting, Artemis, Greek goddess of the hunt, nude with moon crown and Greek sandals holding a recurve bow and caressing a female deer at the neck // two rabbits above the script waidmannsheil "good hunting" curved along the bottom,a superb lustrous mint state example! PCGS graded MS65. Born on October 26, 1911 in Stuttgart, Germany during his life Helmut Diller has amassed a wealth of experience as a portraitist, landscapist and wood sculptor. Many exhibitions in Europe and the USA have featured his work. His perfection in anatomy as well as natural poses are demonstrated in all of his creations, such as eagles, flamingos, deer, stag, antelopes, gazelles, buffalos, leopards and other animals of prey, as well as the domesticated animals, cattle and horses.
