GERMANY: Third Reich, AR medal, 1938, Kienast-546, 36mm, Munich Mint, silver medal by Karl Goetz for the Annexation of Austria (Anschluss), draped figure of Germania seated facing, holding sword and scythe, to left and right are two eagles (representing Germany and Austria) standing inwardly, with heads facing outward and with wings spread // 18 coats-of-arms for German States and Austria, inner and outer banners around, edge lettering BAYER HAUPTMÜNZAMT FEINSILBER, matte finish, tied for finest graded (Top Pop) at the top of the PCGS population reports, a superb example of this historical medal, PCGS graded Specimen 65. This item was originally produced by a regime which perpetrated crimes against humanity, war crimes, mass murder, and other acts of violence.
