GERMANY: Third Reich, medal shell (4.10g), 1936, 52mm uniface brass medal shell for the Meeting of the SA Standarte 16 (Rhine), stylized outstretched eagle with two SA men below with UNS TRAGT EIN GLAUBE directly below, all within inner circle with 1.NOVEMBER 1936 - TRADITIONS TREFFEN DER SA STANDARTE 16 (RHEIN) around, edges a bit crude, slight reverse oxidation, light planchet striations, very rare, XF. The SA (Sturmabteilung) was the Nazi Party's original paramilitary organization, nicknamed the "Brownshirts", which helped Adolf Hitler rise to power in Germany. Led by figures like Ernst Röhm, the SA was used to intimidate political opponents and provide a sense of purpose for its members. However, after becoming a potential threat to Hitler's control and the established German army, the SA's power was broken during the "Night of the Long Knives" in 1934, losing prominence to the SS. This item was originally produced by a regime which perpetrated crimes against humanity, war crimes, mass murder, and other acts of violence. Our firm does not endorse such activities and only offers this item as an artifact of history to further research and civil enlightenment.
