GHAZNAVID: Balkategin, ca. 932-938, AR multiple dirham (6.01g), Balkh, AH"326", A-1594, remarkable type, citing both the Samanid Nasr b. Ahmad and the heir Nuh b. Nasr, copying the standard Samanid dirham of Balkh AH326 (SNAT-584/86) but with caliph al-Muti' (AH334-363) instead of al-Radi (322-329); the rarest of all multiple dirhams that we have seen and probably unique, choice AU, RRR. Like all multiple dirhams citing earlier Samanid rulers, this piece was probably struck no earlier than AH366. It copies SNAT-585 but with stylized calligraphic style and the wrong caliph.
