GIRAY KHANS (CRIMEA): Shahin Giray, 1777-1783, AR 40 para (17.76g), Baghcha-Saray, AH1191 year 5, A-A2112, Retowski-100, Second Series coinage, with the toughra obverse, tooled fields, lustrous! PCGS graded Unc details, RR, ex Dick Nauta Collection. The fineness of the silver coinage was dramatically changed, from a uniform fineness of 84 zolotnik to 80 zolotnik for the altmishlik (= 1 rouble) and 50 zolotnik for all smaller denominations. The 40 para coin is also known as a piaster, ghrush (aka kurush), or poltina.
