Ingram, Birmingham, draped bust left of the Duke of York with H.R.H.FREDERICK DUKE OF YORK.K.G. around // funerary urn on plinth with trophy flags behind and soldier in mourning before with "H.R.H. FREDERICK DUKE OF YORK.BORN AUGt. 16.1763.DIED JANy. 5.1827." around, and THE SOLDIER'S / FRIEND in exergue, bronzed specimen issue, brown, rare, PCGS graded Specimen 65. According to Brown, "Frederick Augustus, Duke of York and Albany, the second son of George III was born in 1763. He made the army his chosen career and was responsible for the foundation of the Royal Military College at Woolrich. In 1791 he married Princess Frederica of Prussia."
