Gillick for the London, Midland, & Scottish Railway, Britannia seated left with right arm extended holding laurel branch with "FOR SERVICE - IN / NATIONAL / EMERGENCY / MAY - 1926" in fields // three female figures holding two locomotives with LARG - ITAS / MVN - ERIS / SAL - VS / REIPVB - LICAE at sides, beautiful even chocolate-brown color, in original plush case, plain edge, Choice UNC. Included in this lot is a letter from the Railway regarding the recipient's help in the General Strike. Interestingly, the first letters of the 4-line Latin legend spell LMSR for the London, Midland, & Scottish Railway.
