GREAT BRITAIN: AE medal, ND (1820), BHM-673, Eimer-999, 41mm bronze medal by Angelo Donnadio and La Fitte for the Battle of Talavera; ARTHUR DUKE OF WELLINGTON around uniformed bust of Sir Arthur Wellesley, Duke of Wellington, facing right // Winged Victory, standing, offering wreaths to the British lion and the French eagle with BATTLE OF TALAVERA /1809 / LA FITTE MUDIE D. in exergue below, with usual large arcing die cracks in obverse legend, a wonderful specimen quality example! PCGS graded Specimen 64. This is number 16 in Mudie's National Series of Medals. Wellesley was given the title Viscount of Wellington after this victory.
