GREAT BRITAIN: Edward VII, 1901-1910, AR medal (23.90g), 1902, 38mm silver medal for the Coronation of Edward VII by JM (most likely J. Moore) for the City of Coventry, conjoined crowned busts right with scepter over Edward's right shoulder with "h.M.KInG - EDWARD ThE SEVEnTh / h.M.QUEEn.ALEXAnDRA" around // central crown with MAYOR below with CITY OF COVENTRY - ALBERT S. TOMSON around within laurel wreath with "Coronation of King Edward vii" in Gothic script with JUNE 26, 1902 below, a few light obverse hairlines, unlisted in Brown and Eimer, in original white plush case of issue, with label on bottom reading "To The Mayoress / Ellen Tomson / from / The Mayor / Albert S. Tomson / August 9, 1902", plain edge, Specimen. This piece, while ordinarily fairly common, appears to be a presentation piece from the mayor of Coventry to his wife. We have found no other pieces of this quality in existence besides this one.
