GREAT BRITAIN: George VI, 1936-1952, AR medal, MYB-233, 43x35mm, Territorial Decoration, oak leaf wreath in silver, with the Royal Cypher of George VI below the Royal Crown, with original ribbon of issue, XF The Territorial Decoration (TD) was a military medal of the United Kingdom awarded for long service in the Territorial Force and its successor, the Territorial Army. This award superseded the Volunteer Officer's Decoration when the Territorial Force was formed on April 1, 1908, following the enactment of the Territorial and Reserve Forces Act of 1907. The original criterion was for a minimum of 20 years of service (subsequently reduced to 12 years) in the Territorial Force and Territorial Army, with war service counting double and service in the ranks counting half.
