Wyon, bust of Victoria left with ROYAL NATIONAL LIFE-BOAT INSTITUTION. 1824 -- INCORPORATED 1860. / VICTORIA PATRONESS around // three men in boat, one pulling a survivor out of the water with LET NOT THE DEEP SWALLOW ME UP around, with elaborate suspension clasp (as issued), but without ribbon, plain edge, beautifully toned, hairlined fields, About Unc. This medal was given to those who showed outstanding service in rescuing people from shipwrecks. Interestingly, William Wyon has portrayed himself as the man pulling another out of the water on reverse! The medal comes with a suspension clasp that varies in form.
