Caroline of Brunswick was queen consort of the United Kingdom as the wife of King George IV from 29 January 1820 until her death in 1821. She was the Princess of Wales from 1795 to 1820. She had a troubled marriage with George involving the "Delicate Investigation," social isolation, exile, her return to Britain, and the "Pains and Penalties Bill."
