GREAT MONGOLS: Anonymous, ca. 1220s-1230s, AV dinar (4.43g), Bukhara, ND, A-1966, obverse legend qa'an / yarlighi, kalima reverse, with the mint name above the reverse field; probably undated; unpublished and the first discovery of this type, VF-EF, RRRR. The phrase "qa'an yarlighi" means "by order of the Khan". This is first Great Mongol coin we have heard of that bears the word "yarlighi" that appears on some Timurid coins in the name of Timur, especially the common miris struck at Samarqand from the AH780s to the early 800s.
