IMPORTANT NOTE - The Buyer's Premium is now $20 per lot or 20% of the hammer price, whichever amount is greater. However, we have also reduced opening bids on lower value items to adjust for the new Buyer's Premium structure, so all-in costs are still very close to what they were in the past. This change in fee structure will allow us to continue to offer coins valued at less than $100 in addition to our higher value offerings. Contact us with any questions.
HAFSID: Abu Zakariya' Yahya I, 1230-1249, AV dinar (4.78g), Tilimsan (Tlemcen), ND, A-499.2, H-548, ruler cited in the reverse margin as al-amir al-ajall / abu zakariya yahya / bin abi muhammad / bin abi hafs, gorgeous calligraphy, adopted from the finest styles of the previous Almohad gold coinage; superb bold strike, NGC graded MS64, RR. Although Tilimsan was the chief city of the Ziyanids from AH637, it was retaken by the Hafsids about AH640 (1242/43) and held for a few years (perhaps until about 650), thereafter almost permanently Ziyanid.
