HALL IN SWABIA: Free Imperial City, AR pfennig, 1774, Steinh-147, 'hand heller' type, struck circa 1309-31, without legend, sharply struck, a wonderful mint state example! PCGS graded MS64, ex Joe Sedillot Collection. The Royal Mint of Schwäbisch Hall was opened by Emperor Friedrich I. Barbarossa (1122-1190).The name Heller comes from the word Häller, in other words meaning a coin minted in Schwäbisch Hall and was first mentioned in 1189.
