HEPHTHALITE: Samadatranara, 7th century, BI drachm (2.40g), G-259, Mitch-—, bust 3/4 facing, with senmurg atop his crown / fire-altar & attendants reverse, countermarked resting camel facing right, Very Fine, RRR. Ruler's name in Brahmi script. The camel facing right is similar to Göbl's KM-12 which faces left. The star-in-crescent symbols around the reverse margin were first introduced by Hormizd IV in 579. This type was probably struck quite late thereafter, perhaps during the second half of the 7th century.
