HUNGARY: silvered AE medal, World War I Commemorative Medal (Magyar Háborús Emlékerem), XF, ex Joseph E. Lang Collection. The World War I Commemorative Medal (Magyar Háborús Emlékerem) was instituted on May 26, 1929. A circular, silver medal, the obverse center presents the coat of arms of Hungary decorated with the Hungarian Holy Crown, over a pair of crossed swords, surrounded by a laurel wreath on the left and an oak leaf wreath on the right; the reverse center presents a military steel helmet above the years "1914-1918", surmounted by the inscription PRO DEO ET PATRIA.
