HYDERABAD: Mir Mahbub Ali Khan, 1868-1911, AE ½ anna, Hyderabad Farkhanda Bunyad, AH1303 year 20, transitional pattern issue, inscribed nim anna (half anna) in the obverse center; likely unique! PCGS graded Specimen 55, RRRR, ex Hurmuz Kaus Collection. Although hand struck, this rare type is produced on a well-manufactured round flan with clear, complete impressions of the dies. It is part of a rare transitional series in circulation from 1303-1305, produced by mintmaster Nawab Daulath Yar Jung. This example is the same as published in an article in Spink & Son's Monthly Numismatic Circular, Volumes 65-66, 1957. A copy of the article is included. This and the following lot are incorrectly called regnal year 2 instead of year 20.
