ILKHAN: Ghazan Mahmud, 1295-1304, AR dirham (2.28g), [Tiflis, in Georgia], DM, A-2168P, Bennett-351, obverse in Uighur, cross in reverse center; with Georgian monograms at upper right on the reverse, made from the Georgian ecclesiastical majuscules for the name of Wakhtang III (ca. 1298-1308) and MePe ("king") in the upper right corner, struck only in AH698, about 25% flat, VF, RRR. This is the last Ilkhan special issue for Georgia, replaced by ordinarly Ilkhan type A-2173 during the year AH698, without any Christian legends or symbols (both type were also struck in AH699).
