ILKHAN: Hulagu, 1256-1265, AV ingot dinar (3.66g), al-Mawsil, AH672, A-2121.2, Zeno-165388 (this piece), citing the Great Mongol Qubilai Khan only by title qa'an al-a'zam, without his name, phrase mâlik ruqâb al-umam, "possessor of the necks of the people," on the obverse and al-'azuma lillah, "greatness is God's", on the reverse, clear mint & date, VF-EF, RRR, ex Christian Rasmussen Collection, ex Stephen Album Rare Coins Auction 24, Lot 497. The word "mangû" above the obverse field means "money" or "gift of God", and is not the name of the deceased Great Mongol Möngke (died 15 years earlier, in AH657). Others do argue that it is an alternative spelling of the name Möngke, which is found posthumously on both Ilkhan and Juchid coins, but the latest confirmed date is 664, and this dinar is dated 672.
