INDIAN STATES: LOT of 66 coins, from Southern India between the medieval period and the 1940's, many in silver, several interesting types, including Arcot (1 Nayaka-type copper, Mitch-372var, peacock/ 5-petaled flower), Cholas of Tanjore (AR 1/3 kahavanu, Mitch-751var), Cochin (2 AR puttuns), Madura (7 coppers), Puddokkottai (2 coppers), Travancore (27 hammered AR chuckrams and 13 hammered coins, incl. an EF-AU AR 2 chuckrams with attractive light luster and a few red BU coppers), Vijayanagar (3, incl. two feudatory AR pagodas of the Saluvas), plus 6 Viraraya AR fanams of the Kingdom of Kandy in Ceylon, as well as 17 unidentified small coppers; various conditions, most average for their type, some quite nice, most attributed on accompanying holders by the consignor; retail value $750, lot of 66 pieces.
