INDO-GREEK: Diodotus II, ca. 246-235 BC, AV stater (8.31g), Bop-5A, diademed head of king right / brandishing thunderbolt & holding aegis, deep test cut on obverse, as found on most coins of Diodotus I and II from the recent hoard, with the cut still filled with ancient adhesions, Fine to VF, RR. The type was assigned by Bopearachchi, together with those in the name of Antiochus, to both Diodotus I and II, but Zeno has assigned the issues in the name of Antiochus to Diodotus I and those in the name of Diodotus to Diodotus II. Issues in the name of Diodotus are many times rarer than the issues citing the name Antiochus.
