ACEH: Sultan Firman, ca. late 16th century, AR unit (0.96g), Zeno-353089 (this example), Leyten--, firman // sultan, both sides within circle surrounded by border of dots, tentatively attributed to al-Malik Firman Shah, the father of Sultan Alauddin Ri'ayat Shah (1589-1604), apparently unique, Choice VF. Due to the dearth of other coins of this ruler, the identity of Sultan Firman is uncertain and tentatively attributed to the father of the sultan Alauddin Ri'ayat Shah, whose gold coins bear the patronym Firman Shah (Leyten-13). Leyten (2004) also alludes to the existence of another Firman Shah in the early 14th century (p.74).
