IMPORTANT NOTE - The Buyer's Premium is now $20 per lot or 20% of the hammer price, whichever amount is greater. However, we have also reduced opening bids on lower value items to adjust for the new Buyer's Premium structure, so all-in costs are still very close to what they were in the past. This change in fee structure will allow us to continue to offer coins valued at less than $100 in addition to our higher value offerings. Contact us with any questions.
BORNEO: Da Gang, tin cash (8.2g), ca. 1837-1854, Millies-258, cf. Zeno-248522, Yih & de Kreek-13 (NC 1993, pp. 171-195), da gang gong si // he shun, casting flaw near edge, light discoloration, traces of original luster, VF-XF. Da Gang Gongsi was one of the fourteen members of the He Shun Gongsi Confederation in the Montrado region of Borneo. In 1837, it became the sole member of the confederation with the closure or withdrawal of all other gongsis after a series of power struggles. After several wars against the Dutch, the Confederation surrendered and ceased to exist by July 1854. The majority of the gongsi cash were subsequently melted down.
