Da Gang Gongsi was one of the fourteen members of the He Shun Gongsi Confederation in the Montrado region of Borneo. In 1837, it became the sole member of the confederation with the closure or withdrawal of all other gongsis after a series of power struggles. After several wars against the Dutch, the Confederation surrendered and ceased to exist by July 1854. The majority of the gongsi cash were subsequently melted down.
