IRAQ: AV medal (34.84g), struck for the Egyptian branches of the Rafidain Bank (headquartered in Baghdad, Iraq), established in 1941 (this medal struck circa 1970s or 1980s), with the Arabic phrase that translates as "appreciate your services", marked 22 karat with the manufacturer's mark HF, Unc, RR. The bank's name means "the two rivers", referring to the Tigris and the Euphrates Rivers. The manufacturer's mark HF is for the Swiss firm Huguenin Freres, where this piece was struck.
