IRELAND: Charles I, 1625-1649, AR crown, ND (1643-4), KM-64, Dav-3792, S-6544var, "Ormonde" issue, Lords Justices Coinage during the Great Rebellion, central details weak (as usual), nicely centered full flan, PCGS graded VF25 Secure Holder. This issue is known as Ormonde money after the Earl of Ormonde who was the Lieutenant of Ireland in 1643. These crude strikes show loyalty to the king by the "C.R." letters on the obverse. These pieces were struck from blanks cut from silver plates.
